Before first use
Unpack the doll on a clean, soft surface. Remove the packaging materials carefully, and do not use a knife or scissors close to the skin. Wash the doll before first use as described below, and read the product manual, especially for models with heating or voice control.
Cleaning
Models listed as waterproof can be washed. On models with heating or voice control, keep the battery and charging port dry while washing.
- Use warm water and a mild, unscented soap.
- Wash gently by hand or with a soft cloth; do not scrub.
- Rinse well so that no soap remains on the skin.
- Pat dry with a soft towel, then let the doll air-dry completely before dressing or storing it.
- Do not use alcohol, oil-based products or harsh cleaners.
- For TPE dolls, finish with a light dusting of renewal powder or cornstarch once the skin is dry.
Clothing and color transfer
Dyes from dark or printed clothing can stain the skin, especially on TPE. Choose light-colored clothing, wash new clothes before use, and do not leave clothing on the doll for long periods in storage.
Posing and moving
Full-size dolls have an internal skeleton with movable joints. Move the joints slowly and within a natural range, and never force a joint that resists. Do not leave the doll in an extreme pose for long periods.
Lift the doll by supporting the torso, not by the arms, legs, neck or hair. A full-size doll is easier and safer to move with two people.
Hair, face and painted details
Comb implanted hair gently, starting from the ends and working up. Avoid hot styling tools. Do not use makeup remover, solvents or abrasive pads on the face, because they can wear away the hand-painted details.
Heated and voice-control models
- Charge the doll as the product manual describes.
- Keep the battery and charging port dry when washing.
- Let the doll dry completely before charging.
- Do not leave the doll charging unattended.
- Before long storage, follow the battery advice in the manual.
Storage
Store the doll clean and dry, out of direct sunlight and away from heaters and other heat sources. Lay it flat on a soft surface, or hang it from a proper neck hook. Do not put anything heavy on top of it, and avoid tight folds or bends that can leave marks on the skin. Cover it to keep dust off.
If the doll will not be used for a while, clean and dry it fully first, and check it from time to time.
If something looks wrong
If the doll arrives damaged or not as ordered, take photos of the item and the packaging and contact the store straight away. For hygiene reasons, used dolls usually cannot be returned, so check the doll on arrival, before first use.
